Lijn

A reader for the bandes dessinées, comics, manga, and books you already own. It puts every album in its place, opens it at the page you left, and stays out of the way while you read.

One email when Lijn is ready, nothing else. How we keep your address.

For iPad. A public beta on TestFlight comes first, then the App Store. How it works.

Your shelf, in order.

Add a folder of CBZ, CBR, or PDF files and Lijn reads what is inside them: the series, the tome, the scénariste and the dessinateur. Albums line up in tome order. When one is missing, Lijn tells you which.

The Lijn library on iPad: Continue Reading above a shelf of BD, manga, and books

Read it as it was drawn.

Single pages or double-page spreads, left to right or right to left, remembered for each album. Pages turn like paper. Pinch to look closer at a panel, or scroll a webtoon from top to bottom.

Details from the people who catalogue books.

Find Metadata asks the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Sudoc, and Wikidata about your albums, then shows you exactly what would change before anything does. Nothing is looked up unless you ask.

What to read next.

Finish Aldébaran and Lijn suggests Bételgeuse, the next cycle. Every suggestion says why, and none of it leaves your iPad.

Bring your server.

Browse Komga, Kavita, Calibre-Web, and other OPDS catalogues, and keep what you download. When you close a book, your progress goes back to the server, and your place follows you between your iPads.

Books, too.

EPUB novels open in a reader made for text, with highlights and notes. Illustrated EPUBs open like comics.

$9.99

Or €9.99, at launch. The price later becomes $19.99. One purchase unlocks the rest of your library, and every later version is included. No subscription.

Made by one person.

Lijn is made by Studio Alticcio, a one-person studio, for the kind of library that never fit in one app.
